Town centre pub set to swing its doors open after £250,000 renovation

The Butlers Bell was recently purchased by Davenports.

The Butler’s Bell, on Gaolgate Street, Stafford, is set to open its doors on the 23rd February following a thoughtful and stylish renovation by its
new owners.

The pub was placed up for sale last year by JD Weatherspoons and soon acquired by Davenports.

The new-look Butler's is promising to serve up popular pub classics from 8am - 8pm, plus free live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights.

Owners, Davenports, are offering to add extra value, enjoyment and a 'unique' customer experience. In addition, the Butler's Bell will boast a wall of giant screens showing major sporting fixtures with Sky Sports, TNT and Amazon Prime.

Monday evenings will host a pub quiz with quizmaster, James Rudge, and friends can socialise over a friendly game of pool with the 7 foot table.

Marketing Director for Davenports, Kate McPhilimey, told Stafford FM:

“The Butler’s Bell will serve up something fresh and exciting to Stafford town centre. Good, honest food at a great price
accompanied by everything you would want or need from ‘your local’ to include a warm welcome, a feeling of familiarity, free entertainment, your favourite sport on the TV and a great drinks line-up that doesn’t break the bank."

She continued:

"My Local’ pubs provide a familiar space that people enjoy, trust, relax and can socialise in, a space they want to call ‘my local.

Davenports are always generous landlords, the free live entertainment will give people that extra value for their spend, whilst all the major sporting channels will play out games and events that should not be missed!”

The Butler's Bell will also be launching an extensive menu from breakfast though lunch to dinner, with a breakfast starting at as little as £1.50.

There will also be introducing their 'famous' Sporting Platters that are ideal for sharing with friends whilst
watching a game of football.

General Manger of the Butler's Bell, Ruth Houliston, added:

“I am extremely excited for customers to see the refurbishment, so much thought has gone into every aspect of the pubs offering. The
Pool table enables people to get social with friends throughout the day and evening, the foodie offering is very strong and the free live entertainment at weekends will bring so much fun to a night out in Stafford.”

The extensive renovation has cost upwards of £250,000 and would have been more if were not for Davenports talented team of craftsman. Upon opening, circa 35 jobs will have also been created.

Bucking the trend, owners of The Butler’s Bell, Davenports, have shown growth year-on-year with several acquisitions and new openings
accompanied by three Best Pub Awards in the last 12-months.

Katie added;

“The company is uniquely placed within the industry in terms of the incredible heritage it boasts and its ‘on-point’ relevancy for today’s society. Pioneers over the centuries, the company works hard to create venues that fulfil the needs of the communities they serve today.”

On Saturday 24th February, Stafford FM's Breakfast presenter, Stu Haycock, will also be there to help the team hand out goody bags (whilst they last) from 11am until 2pm in the pub.
