Stu Haycock at Breakfast

Stu Haycock at Breakfast is the only way to wake up across Mid Staffordshire, weekdays 6-10am, sponsored by the Gatehouse theatre, Stafford

Stu will keep you across the latest on the roads, along with news, sport and information for the area - and all mixed in with some mischief, entertainment and great music on Vibe 1!

Stu started on the radio whilst still at school. Since he first appeared on the radio he's spent time at Signal 1, Signal 2, Beacon Radio, Rock FM, Channel 4 FM in Dubai.... we could go on, but we won't.

He's one of the stations founders, having joined Ray Crowther on the Stafford FM radio rollercoaster back in 2001. Since then, he's stayed... left... come back... and has decided to stay again. This time for good, we hope!

Let's find out a bit more about the man that wakes up Mid Staffordshire. We asked Stu some questions...

What school did you go to?
I went to St.Anne's and then Blessed William Howard.

Did you always want to be on the radio?
I would say yes - but in all honesty, I was harboured ambitions of being a footballer. That didn't turn out too well! I was obsessed with radio as a kid though and fell in love with the intimacy of it whilst growing up and listening to Signal.

What other things do you do other than spend most of your time at Stafford FM? (it would seem!)
Spending time with my kids. Although most of my free time is taken up driving my 19 year old around the country watching Forest!

If you weren't back at Stafford FM, what would you be doing?
Having a lie-in!

Describe your show in 5 words...
DON'T. TAKE. IT. TOO. SERIOUSLY.

Who do you admire the most?
Tough one. There are a few people really, but anyone that can live in the same house as me!

What do you love about Stafford?
For me, it's the memories. I grew up here and it doesn't matter where I go in town, I still have fond memories
of places I've been and things I've done.
