On Wednesday the 8th of November 2023 Stafford Samaritans are marking the 60th anniversary of when the branch started, with the launch of a recipe book which has been compiled with contributions from far and wide.
The Worshipful The Mayor of Stafford Councillor Andy Cooper attended the event, which was held in the foyer of No1. Staffordshire Place in Stafford at 10.30 who was invited to purchase the first copy of the book.
Also at the launch with over 120 years of volunteering between them for Stafford branch was Alan, Brian and Judith, whose idea this was.
It was in the evening of November 1st 1963 that a Samaritan volunteer in Stafford lifted a phone in support of somebody needing to talk about their feelings and the branch is very proud to be still offering this very important service.
The books will be available locally at Christmas fairs at £10.00 each with all the money going towards the upkeep of the premises and general running costs to help them through the next 60years.
The number of books is limited but donations with cheques made out to Stafford Samaritans, will be gratefully received at the branch the address; Stafford Samaritans, Garden Street, Stafford, ST17 4DD
