More than 100 polling stations for upcoming local elections

Stafford Borough Council announces polling stations

MORE THAN 100 POLLING STATIONS FOR UPCOMING LOCAL ELECTIONS

A variety of venues will become polling stations in preparation for next weeks local elections across the Borough.

Residents will have the chance to cast votes at various locations on Thursday 4th May,

Amongst the polling stations will be Stafford Rangers on Marston Road, Brocton Football Clubs Silkmore Lane ground, the White Eagle Club on Riverway and Stone Tennis and Squash Club. Other local sports clubs, pubs, churches and even a caravan are being made available at convenient locations.

More than 100 polling stations will be open from 7am until 10pm for residents eligible to vote.

Electoral Returning Officer, Tim Clegg, who is the Chief Executive of the borough council said:

“We are very grateful for the assistance of local businesses, sports clubs and community groups who make their premises available for polling stations.

“Democracy is something you only miss when it is not there. Taking part in these elections gives you the opportunity to say who will be representing you and taking key decisions on how local services are provided across the borough.

“So, the support of all these venues is really important and means voters across the borough won’t have far to travel to make their voice heard on Thursday 4 May.”
