Local chippy shortlisted for UK wide award

Jo Jo's Fish & Chips have been shortlisted for a top UK award

Jo Jo's Fish and Chips at Weeping Cross, have been shortlisted for another award after news that they have made it in the Best Mobile Operator Top 3 with the National Federation of Fish Friers 2024.

It's the second year in a row that Jo Jo's have made the final shortlist after just missing out on the top award at last year's ceremony.

The prestigious awards are the pinnacle of accolades in the industry.

The Jo Jo's Mobile Van went into operation in 2021 and is quite often seen around the area at various local events, such as Stafford Walking Street and the Saracen's Head Fireworks Display. However, they are also heavily involved in working alongside corporate organisations across the country.

Owner, Jon Evans, commented:

"Working the mobile van is hard work but this is testament to the dedication and skill of our team.

Being shortlisted in the Top 3 again is so exciting - and whilst the competition is hot, we're quietly confident that we can go one step further this year."

Jo Jo's will be the only representative in the Midlands but will face stiff competition from Country Fried in Blackburn and Hungry Plaice from Holbeach.

President of the National Federation of Fish Firers and awards organiser Andrew Cook, said:

"Businesses in the mobile space have a unique kind of pressure cooker environment to work in and whether it's serving customers in a bustling town or city centre or pitching up at nuptials in the middle of a soggy field, it requires expertise in adaptability to different cooking dynamics whilst maintaining the highest level of professionalism.

Hats off to the finalists - this is a wonderful achievement, and we wish them all the best for the awards and in the future."

Jo Jo's will find out their fete at a lavish ceremony at the Park Plaza in London on 28th February next year.
