Introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Chris and here is a quick introduction interview on Vibe 1 and why I decided to set up a Facebook page called "Visit Stafford", this has been something that I have been wanting to do since I was 18. I have also recently joined The Sanctuary Show which is on every Tuesday 7pm-10pm.

In 2023, I regularly saw people saying that they were unaware of events and businesses in and around Stafford and I decided that it was time for a change. With no qualifications or knowledge of social media and marketing, I set up my own Facebook page called "Stafford Hub". The main aim was to keep the community up-to-date with anything to do with Stafford such as events, roadworks and town centre. Since starting, I have gained a following on Facebook of over 6,000 followers.

In September I decided that I would change the Facebook name to Visit Stafford, allowing me to reach out to a wider audience. I thought that covering some of the negative news was doing the opposite effect that I wanted, and it was indeed turning people away from Stafford. Along with the new name, I will now be dedicating the page and website to bringing communities together, spreading positive news and raising more awareness around businesses.

What's next?

There's plenty of ideas being thrown around, many of them are currently secret and yet to be officially announced. The aim is to incorporate businesses, communities and the council. If you wish to follow my journey on promoting Stafford, take a look at my Facebook page and Website.
